Halina Konopacka of Poland - First Woman Athlete to Win Gold in Olympics

On 31 July 1928, First women's athletic event, discus throw finals were held. Halina Konopacka of Poland, the favorite to win the medal, clinched the Gold with a throw of 39.62 metres.
