Ricky Ponting announced his retirement from international cricket. Third test in the present series against South Africa will be his last test. Including this test he would play 168 tests.
He is being described as the second best Australian batsman after Don Bradman. He won 48 tests as skipper of Australian team. He won two one day World cups as captain and one more as a player for Australia.
